My Perspective
In my perspective, this is a solid decision from Inter Miami’s coach because Lionel Messi is a veteran and is now 39 years old. Especially after playing a demanding World Cup, giving him some rest is the right decision.
Handling such a busy schedule at his age is incredible, and he can still perform at the highest level, making him a crucial player for any team.
In overall, Messi went through a busy fixture schedule, and a small amount of rest will not affect his career or reputation in the long term.

In the post-match interview, Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos said:
“We’re genuinely happy that they’ve returned and are back at the club. It’s great to see them here.”
Hoyos mentioned all of his players; however, he especially highlighted Messi during the interview.
