Real Madrid Sign Yan Diamonde for €100 Million: A Win or a Loss?

Introduction

On 27 July, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid completed the signing of Yan Diomande in a stunning deal worth around €100 million.Romano confirmed the transfer by posting his signature phrase:

“Here We Go!”

Contract Details

Tonight, the agreement was completed with RB Leipzig for a fee worth over €100 million for the Ivorian winger.Diomande will fly to Madrid this week to complete his medical tests before signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.The transfer fee has not been officially confirmed by Real Madrid. However, reliable sources such as Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports suggest the deal is worth around €100 million.Reports also suggest that Diomande has signed a five-year contract after agreeing personal terms with Real Madrid before the deal was officially completed. His salary has not yet been officially announced. However, SalaryLeaks reports that Diomande is expected to earn around €1.9 million per year.

My Perspective

In my perspective, this is a mediocre decision from Real Madrid.Yan Diomande is truly an incredible young talent. His age and attributes make him stand out compared to many other players. Being only 19 years old and dominating the Bundesliga is on another level.

However, buying a young talent for €100 million is simply not acceptable. Especially for a club like Real Madrid that has recently tried to save money instead of spending huge transfer fees.

Overall, I think this is an amazing decision for Diomande’s career, but a poor decision from Real Madrid’s perspective.
