Introduction
On 26 July, according to expert journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have informed Bayern Munich about their interest in signing French winger Michael Olise.
Real Madrid contacted Bayern Munich several days ago to notify them of their intention, making it clear that they do not want to damage the strong relationship between the two clubs.
Pérez’s Admiration
Reports suggest that Florentino Pérez will not push aggressively for Michael Olise this summer. Although Pérez is a huge admirer of the French winger, he is prioritizing respect between the clubs rather than forcing a transfer.
Focus on Yan Diamonde
Currently, Real Madrid’s main priority remains Yan Diamonde.
The Spanish giants have already submitted a €100 million bid for the Leipzig wonderkid, but it was rejected. According to reports, Real Madrid are preparing a second bid worth €120 million.
The Olise deal will only become a serious possibility if Bayern Munich soften their stance.
Michael Olise’s Status
Michael Olise is not pushing Bayern Munich for a transfer.
The French winger is happy to stay at Bayern Munich but is also open to joining Real Madrid if an agreement between the clubs is reached.
My Perspective
In my perspective, this is a solid decision for Bayern Munich, but it is not the best decision for Michael Olise.
Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in the world and dominate the Bundesliga almost every season. However, this creates a problem called competitiveness. Every player is expected to perform at the highest level every week.
Just because a player performs well in one league does not mean he will perform the same in another. For example, a player can shine in the Portuguese League but struggle in the Premier League. The same applies here. Even though Olise has already shown his quality in Germany, playing for Real Madrid is a completely different level of pressure.
