Introduction

French footballer Kylian Mbappé has officially been announced as the cover athlete for EA Sports FC 27, being recognized as the best footballer of the year according to FC Company.

Mbappé’s History with FIFA

The 27-year-old footballer appeared on the cover of the FIFA series in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

This is the first time EA Sports has featured the French superstar on the cover since the franchise changed from FIFA to EA Sports FC.

Mbappé will appear on both the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition, becoming the only player featured on this year’s cover.

World Cup Performance

Mbappé recently won the 2026 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot, scoring 10 goals during the tournament.

He also overtook Lionel Messi as the leading goalscorer in the competition’s history.

Mbappé’s Feelings About Being Featured in FC 27

Mbappé expressed his happiness about appearing on the FC 27 cover by saying:

EA Sports will release the first official gameplay trailer on Thursday.

The full game is expected to be released in September.
