The match was thrilling to watch as both teams heavily focused on attacks, creating an entertaining match for the fans.
This match did not matter to the USA as they had already qualified for the Round of 16. However, from Turkiye’s perspective, the match was very notable even though it was a formality because Kırmızı-Beyaz pride was on the line.

My Perspective
In my opinion, Turkiye was not bad at all in producing chances and getting into the game. However, there are several issues in defence, player selection, motivation, and locker-room authority. Despite creating three big chances and producing a higher expected goals (xG) of 3.01 than the USA, Turkiye still showed defensive weaknesses throughout the match.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s Influence on the Squad
Especially, Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s decision on picking which players to play in the World Cup has created even more buzz among Turkish and international fans. Many supporters believe the squad selection and dressing-room hierarchy have become major problems within the squad.
