Mbappé asked Arbeloa to be substituted due to the muscle pain, and reports now state that he has been diagnosed with a semitendinosus muscle injury in his left leg. He is expected to miss the rest of the season, and his participation in the 2026 World Cup remains uncertain, depending on how quickly he heals.
Following the match, Mbappé said: “I felt a bit of discomfort in my left leg during the game, so I asked to come off to be safe. The tests confirmed a semitendinosus injury, but the medical team is monitoring everything closely.”
