Yesterday, Atlético Madrid hosted Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals at the Riyadh Air Stadium. As expected, Atlético Madrid secured the win against Barcelona and qualified for the semi-finals, having already built a 2–0 advantage from the first leg.

Goals

  • Lamine Yamal – 4’
  • Ferran Torres – 24’
  • Ademola Lookman – 31’

Dani Olmo played very solidly throughout the match, earning a 8.0 rating and becoming the Man of the Match.

After the match, Lamine Yamal expressed his sadness by saying,
“We gave everything, but it wasn’t enough. This is only part of the journey—to reach the top, you have to climb, and we know it won’t be easy, nor will they make it easy for us. But giving up is not an option.”

Yamal reminded everyone about the unity of Barcelona by saying,
“We are Barça, and we will be back where we belong. My parents taught me that a man’s word is always kept… and we will bring it to Barcelona.”
